Engels Kozlov was born on March 24, 1926 in Troitsko-Pechorsk, the Komi ASSR. In 1956 he graduated from the Repin Institute of Fine Arts, Yury Neprintsev's workshop. Was engaged in Vitaly Valtsev, Ivan Stepashkin. Participated in exhibitions since 1956. Member ofLeningrad Union of Artists since 1956. He painted portraits, genre and historical compositions, landscapes, still-lifes. Honored Artist of the Komi ASSR (1971). Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1982). People's Artist of the Komi ASSR (1982). People's Artist of the RSFSR (1987). Personal exhibitions in Leningrad (1976) and Syktyvkar (2006). The works of Engels Kozlov are in the State Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, in museums and private collections in Russia, the United States, Britain, Japan, France and other countries.
