Maria Zubreyeva (1900 - 1991)

  Maria Zubreyeva was born on August 21, 1900 in the village of Koryukovka, Chernigov province. In 1927 she graduated from the Leningrad VHUTEIN (The Leningrad Higher Institute of Industrial Art, today the Saint Petersburg Art and Industry Academy, before 1918 known as the High Art School under Imperial Academy of Arts; since 1944 known as the Repin Institute of Arts). She was engaged in Vladimir Konashevich, Dmitry Mitrokhin. She participated in exhibitions since 1928. Member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1932. She painted portraits, landscapes, still-lifes, genre compositions, worked mainly in the technique of watercolor and tempera painting. Personal exhibitions in Leningrad (1951, 1980, 1984), Petersburg (1996), Moscow (1961, 1965). The works of Maria Zubreeva are in the State Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, in museums and private collections in Russia, France, Britain, Italy and other countries.
