Sergei Zakharov (1900 - 1993)

  Sergei Zakharov was born on November 26, 1900 in the city of Alexandrovsk, Sakhalin region. In 1927 he graduated from the Tomsk Architectural and Construction Institute. Participated in exhibitions since 1938. Member of Leningrad Union of Artists since 1938. He painted still-lifes, genre compositions, landscapes, portraits, worked in watercolor technique, was engaged in monumental painting and interior design. Honored Art Worker of the Tajik SSR (1951). Personal exhibitions in Leningrad (1951, 1980, 1984), Petersburg (1996), Moscow (1961, 1965). Works by Sergei Zakharov are in the State Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, in numerous museums and private collections in Russia, Italy, Britain, the USA and other countries.
