Peter Vasiliev was born on January 26, 1909 in St. Petersburg. In 1938 he graduated from the Repin Institute of Fine Arts, the workshop of Isaak Brodsky. He studied with Mikhail Bernshtein, Alexander Lyubimov, Vladimir Serov, Arkady Rylov. Participated in exhibitions since 1938. Member of the Great Patriotic War, he was wounded and marked by military awards. Member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1946. He wrote genre compositions, portraits, landscapes, still lifes. The works of Peter Vasilyev are in art museums and private collections in Russia, Japan, the USA and other countries.
