Nikolay Baskakov (1918 - 1993)

  Nikolay Baskakov was born on May 8, 1918 in Astrakhan. In 1951 he graduated from the Painting department of the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad. (workshop of Boris Ioganson), where he was a student of  Leonid Ovsyannikov, Boris Vogel, Henry Pavlovsky, Alexander Zaitsev. He participated in exhibitions since 1951. Member  of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1951. He painted portraits, genre, battle and historical compositions, landscapes. The works of Nikolai Baskakov are in the State Russian Museum, in museums and private collections in Russia, France, Germany, the USA and other countries.
