Vladimyr Andreev (1917 - 1995)

Vladimyr Andreev was born in 1917 near Kostroma. In 1939 he was drafted into the Red Army. With parts of the 1st Belorussian Front passed all the Great Patriotic War, met the Victory in Berlin. Awarded with many orders and medals. In 1953 he graduated from the Repin Institute in Victor Preshnikov personal Art Studio. Since 1953 he has been a regular participant of exhibitions of Leningrad artists. From 1953 till 1989 he taught in the Leningrad Vera Mukhina Higher School of Art and Design. He painted genre and thematic paintings, portraits, landscapes, still lifes. The greatest recognition was given to portraits of contemporaries - cultural and art figures, veterans of war, children's images. Member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1957. His personal exhibitions were in 1975, 1980 и 1984 in Leningrad. His paintings reside in Museums and private collections of Russia, USA, Japan, Belgium, Germane, France.
