Alexander Tatarenko (1925 - 2000)

 Alexander Tatarenko was born on October 5, 1925 in Ochakov, Ukraine. In 1942-1945 Tatrenko took part in the Great Patriotic Waк and was wounded.Then he was mobilized in the fleet untill 1950. He was awarded many military orders and medals. In 1955 he graduated from the Leningrad Municipal School named after V. I. Mukhina, the workshop of Alexander Kazantsev. He studied with Stepan Prividentsev, Ivan Stepashkin, Peter Buchkin, Cyril Johansen. Participated in exhibitions since 1960. Member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1955. He painted city and landscape landscapes, portraits, genre compositions, etudes from nature. Personal exhibitions in Leningrad (1962, 1981), Odessa (1963, 1982), Lviv (1983). In 1989-1992, the artist's works were successfully presented at exhibitions and auctions of Russian painting L'Ecole de Leningrad in France. The works are in museums and private collections in Russia, France, Britain, the USA and other countries.
