Galina  Smirnova was born on February 17, 1929 in Soligalich, Kostroma Region. In 1955 she graduated from the Repin Institute of Fine Arts, Yury Neprintsev's workshop. She studied with Ivan Stepashkin, Mikhail Avilov, Vladislav Anisovich. Participation in exhibitions since 1955. Member of the the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1960. He writes portraits, genre and thematic paintings, landscapes, still-lifes. The works of Galina Smirnova are in museums and private collections in Russia, France, Great Britain and other countries.
