Lev Russov was born on January 31, 1926 in Leningrad. In 1947 he graduated from the Tavricheskaya Art School. In 1948-1949 he studied at the I.E. Repin Institute in Yury Neprintsev and Heinrich Pavlovsky. He had participated in exhibitions since 1954. Member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1955. He painted portraits, still-lifes, landscapes, genre and historical compositions. He worked in the technique of oil painting and watercolors. He was engaged in wooden sculpture. The works of Lev Russov are in museums and private collections in Russia, France, Sweden, USA, Italy and other countries.
