Alexander Pushnin was born on March 28, 1921 in the city of Morshansk in the Tambov province. In 1950 he graduated from the Repin Institute, the workshop of Rudolf Frentz. He was engaged in Ivan Stepashkin, Mikhail Avilov, Yuri Neprintsev, later in the creative studio of Alexander Gerasimov. Participation in the exhibitions since 1948. A member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1950. He painted portraits, genre and thematic compositions, landscapes, etudes from nature. Candidate of Art Criticism (1952). Professor of thethe Repin Institute (1986). Personal exhibition in Leningrad (1982). The works of Alexander Pushnin are in the State Russian Museum, in museums and private collections in Russia, Japan, France and other countries.
