Victor Otiev was born on February 24, 1935 in Ordzhonikidze (Vladikavkaz), North Ossetia. In 1961 he graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts named after I.E. Repin, the studio of Victor Oreshnikov. He was engaged with Boris Ugarov, Nikita Medovikov, Vladislav Anisovich. Participant exhibitions since 1950. Member of the the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1967. He painted genre compositions, portraits, landscapes, etudes from nature. Personal exhibition in Leningrad (1980). The works of Victor Otiev are in museums and private collections in Russia, France, Germany, Japan and other countries.
