Lev Orekhov was born on November 8, 1913 in Tula. In 1939, Lev Orekhov graduated from LISSA, the workshop of Alexander Osmerkin. He studied with Boris Vogel, Semyon Abugov, Henry Pavlovsky. In 1939-1945 Orechov took part in the Great Patriotic War, which led the Soviet people against Nazi Germany and its allies. He was marked by military awards. Participated in exhibitions since 1939. Member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1946. In 1946-1949 he taught at the Department of Monumental and Decorative Painting the Leningrad Vera Mukhina Higher School of Art and Design. In the 1950s he taught at the Leningrad Art and Graphic Pedagogical School. He painted portraits, landscapes, still-lifes, genre scenes and thematic compositions. The works of Lev Orekhov are in museums and private collections in Russia, France, Germany, the USA and other countries.
