Vyacheslav Ovchinnikov was born on February 19, 1932 in Leningrad. In 1958 he graduated from the Repin Institute of Fine Arts, Yury Neprintsev's workshop. He studied with Vitaly Valtsev, Ivan Stepashkin, with his father Vladimir Ovchinnikov. He had participated at exhibitions since 1958. Member of the the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1960. He painted portraits, landscapes, genre compositions, was engaged in monumental painting. Vyacheslav Ovchinnikov's works are in museums and private collections in Russia, France, Japan and other countries.
