Vladimir Ovchinnikov was born on July 14, 1911 in Saratov. In 1931, Vladimir Ovchinnikov graduated from the Saratov Art College, studied with Peter Utkin. In 1932-1937 he studied at the private studio of Vasily Savinsky, then at the Leningrad Institute for Advanced Training in the Arts of Pavel Naumov, Alexander Karev, Rudolf Frentz. In 1941-1945 Ovchinnikov took part in the Great Patriotic War, which led the Soviet people against Nazi Germany and its allies. He was wounded and marked by military awards. Participated in exhibitions since 1950. Member of the Leningrad Union of Artistssince 1953. He painted landscapes, genre paintings, still lifes, portraits, etudes from nature. Personal exhibition in Leningrad (1984). The works of Vladimir Ovchinnikov are in the State Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, in museums and private collections in Russia, France, the USA, Italy and other countries.
