Gavriil Malysh (1907 - 1998)

  Gavriil Malysh was born on March 25, 1907 in the village of Kitaigorodka near Yekaterinoslav in Ukraine. In 1934 he graduated from the Odessa Art Institute. He studied at A. Gaush and T. Fraerman. He has participated in exhibitions since 1954. Member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1955. He painted landscapes, still-lifes, mostly in the technique of watercolor. Personal exhibitions in Leningrad (1975, 1976, 1977, 1985, 1988), Stockholm (1991), Petersburg (1996, 1997). The works of Malysh are in the State Russian Museum, in numerous museums and private collections in Russia, Japan, the USA, Sweden, France and other countries.
