Ivan Lavsky was born August 23, 1919 in Dnepropetrovsk. In 1939 he graduated from Dnepropetrovsk Art School (Mikhail Panin's workshop). In 1941-1945, Ivan Lavsky took part in the Great Patriotic War and was wounded and marked by military awards. In 1946-1949 Ivan Lavsky attends Art Studio of the Leningrad House of Officers of Red Army, where his teachers were known artists Michail Avilov and Alfred Eberling. Participated in exhibitions since 1947. Member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1956. He painted urban and landscape landscapes, genre and thematic compositions, etudes from nature. The works of Ivan Lavsky are in museums and private collections in Russia, Japan, Britain and other countries.
