Boris Korneyev (1922 - 1973)

 Boris Korneyev was born on February 15, 1922 in Petrozavodsk, Karelia. In 1952 he graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts named after IE Repin, the studio of Victor Oreshnikov. He studied with Boris Vogel, Henry Pavlovsky, Semyon Abugov, Andrei Mylnikov. Participated in exhibitions since 1952. Member of theLeningrad Union of Artists since 1954. He painted portraits, landscapes, still-lifes, genre and thematic compositions. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1965). Professor of the LISA named after IE Repin (1962-1973). Personal exhibitions in Leningrad (1975) and Petersburg (1997). Works by Boris Korneyev are in the State Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, in numerous museums and private collections in Russia, France, the United States and other countries.
